location . . . .

St Nicholas Cottage is ideally situated in the historic ‘Downalong’ area of St Ives. Much of the charm of ‘Downalong’ remains in the granite fishermans cottages decorated with a profusion of hanging baskets in the maze of cobbled streets and alleyways.

The ancient harbour with its many interesting shops and galleries alongside pubs and bistros is a mere 100 yards stroll from St Nicholas Cottage. The main surfing beach at Porthmeor is virtually on the back door step as is the kiddies favourite beach at Porthgwidden.

Take a short walk around the island and hope to see the dolphins or the seals, perhaps a kestrel and certainly a wide variety of seabirds – alternatively stroll along to the Tate or the many other galleries literally ‘round the corner’.

Park your car in the space provided and wander around the town enjoying its unique ambience, a truly wonderful experience come rain or shine.
